I was sitting here on my front porch this morning when the two young bucks came romping through the forest. It rather reminded me of two young guys tussling and wrestling together.
They bolted and dashed down the front driveway … made a sharp turn into the woods behind the car barn … dashed and leapt through the bushes and greenery of the “front paddock” (which has since been turned back into forest).
Then here they came again … darting and dashing … bolting and chasing … around the far side of the driveway loop.
Whew!
Here came the first young buck … rather winded and panting a bit.

Then came the second young buck … also a bit winded.

I’ve watched these two young guys grow up in and around our forest, so I have a sort of “mom’ish” affection for them.
What a fun blessing to start the day!
Thank you God, for youthful exuberance and energy! Even though I no longer have youthful exuberance and energy, it’s still a lot of fun to be around it!
Thank you God, for strong handsome young bucks in our forest … and at the same time, thank you God for all the wonderful, strong, exuberant, youthful next generation of young people in our great country!
