Hubby was at our son and daughter-in-law’s house helping our son to “gut the hut.” Our son was off taking loads of stuff to the dump while hubby was busy pulling up the flooring.
However, hubby ran into a problem as he was pulling up the flooring. (he explained it to me, but I honestly couldn’t tell you what it was)
Stuck at an impasse, hubby pulled out his phone and explained his problem to AI. Within seconds AI had informed him that there was a tool for that!
Well, isn’t that handy! Who knew!
Hubby hopped in the car and drove a few minutes away, over to Lowes where he was able to purchase the necessary tool to help him with his project.
This same type of thing has happened multiple times around our house. Hubby will be working on a fix-it project of some sort and he will run into an impasse. What to do??
A quick consult with his phone informs him: “There’s a tool for that.”
Hubby’s good buddy has his tool trailer parked at our place, since we have more room to store it here. So, in the situations when hubby discovers that “There’s a tool for that” … hubby just goes out to his good buddy’s tool trailer and lo and behold … there’s the tool!
Hubby’s good buddy has almost every tool imaginable in the tool trailer. In just about every situation where hubby has needed a special tool for some fix-it project around the house, the necessary tool has been right there in the tool trailer.
Most recently hubby has this bracket which he needs to mount on the side of the house. However, the space is very narrow down inside the bracket where hubby needs to get his socket wrench to tighten the screw.
“I wonder if there is a socket-wrench extender in the tool trailer?” hubby thought.
Sure enough … there was!
There’s a tool for that!
When it comes to life itself, we likewise find ourselves in similar situations.
We find ourselves in a challenging parenting situation … and we’re stuck at an impasse. We don’t know how to get this parenting task done. We don’t even know what “tools” are needed to help with this challenge.
We find ourselves in a challenging work situation … and we’re stuck at an impasse.
We find ourselves in a challenging mental place … and we’re stuck at an impasse.
We find ourselves in a challenging marital/relational place … and we’re stuck at an impasse.
The good news is: there’s a tool for that! Whatever the challenges are which we face in life … there’s a tool to help us with that!
The Bible is like a “tool trailer” and it is filled with all different kinds of “tools” to help us with whatever problem we are facing in life.
What do we do with this anger we’ve run up against?? There’s a tool for that!
What do we do with this brokenness in our soul?? There’s a tool for that!
What do we do with this criticism we are struggling with?? There’s a tool for that!
What do we do with this grief that’s got us stuck at an impasse?? There’s a tool for that!
Whatever the challenge or impasse we face in life God can and will help us! God has a “tool” for that! We need to get into the Bible. And we need to get the Bible into us. The Bible is like a “tool trailer” … and we won’t know what “tools” are in there to help us if we never step into the “tool trailer” and take a look.
