As we go throughout our day, we become hungry for lunch. We get brain fog and lose our focus and energy if we do not eat like we should. We need food.

In the same way, as we go throughout our day, we should likewise be “hungry” for what is righteous. We’ll likewise experience spiritual “brain fog” and lose our spiritual focus and zeal if we do not take in God’s Word and meditate on what God has shown us to be righteous and true.

As evening falls, we hunger for food. So also, as evening falls and we prepare to retire for the day, we likewise should be “hungry” for what is righteous.

If we have repented of our sin and received God’s grace, mercy, and forgiveness, God gives us the Holy Spirit to live inside us and to transform us to make us more and more like himself.

Day by day we are being transformed by the Holy Spirit to become more and more like God himself. The Holy Spirit takes away our old sinful desires, and replaces them with new desires. The Holy Spirit gives us a supernatural “hunger” and “thirst” for righteousness. Due to the Holy Spirit’s work inside us, we will naturally long for God’s righteousness … because God is righteous.

God himself is righteous.

Therefore, God blesses those who seek righteousness.
