It was early this morning, and I had just finished my hot coco for breakfast and was washing my cup out at the sink when I noticed this young buck moseying back in the forest looking for plums underneath and around the plum tree.
Sadly, this year the plum tree did not produce any plums at all. Bummer for the wildlife.
So, the young buck moseyed on out to have a look-see around the apple trees.

No … no apples on the ground yet.
He didn’t bother to pick any off the tree like the does have been doing.
He meandered on towards the back.

I couldn’t help feeling rather “mom’ish” as I watched the handsome young buck make his way past my kitchen window. This young buck, and his buddy have grown up in and around our forest over the past few years. I remember when they both came by as young teenagers, with just the tiny little nubs of antlers.
And now just look how big his antlers have gotten!
They always hang together … the two of them. The does, on the other hand, hang out together in a “girl posse” of 3-5.
But these two stick together like a brotherhood.
The second young buck was out there this morning too, though I didn’t get a photo of him.
I couldn’t help but be proud in a “mom’ish” sort of way at what a fine handsome young buck he is growing up to be!

What a beautiful Yay for today!
Thank you God for giving us “Yay’s” for each new day!
What Yay has God given you today?
