Someone’s birthday was approaching. It just so happened that when I walked into the grocery store to pick up a few items, lo and behold! … there were the most adorable “fruit” & “vegetable” balloons floating here and there in the produce section! Oh those are too adorable! I couldn’t help but smile! Bright red “apple” balloons; yellow “corn” balloons. Big cheerful “sunflower” balloons. etc. etc. …
Someone special whose birthday was approaching definitely had to have apple balloon for their birthday!
I purchased their cheerful red “apple” birthday balloon a few days early … that way I could enjoy it floating in my own house before giving it away. Haha!
The thing about having a birthday balloon hanging out in your house is … it never stays still. Have you ever noticed this? The birthday balloon is constantly turning this way … then turning that way. Not drastic movement … just a little movement, a tiny wisp of air current this way … then a tiny wisp of air current that way.
Have you ever thought about the unseen air currents in your home?
I never have.
It never occurs to me that there are continually unseen currents of air moving throughout my home.
This same type of thing is what is going on in the unseen spiritual realm. We can’t see the spiritual realm. But it’s there nonetheless … just like the air currents in my house.
Jesus stated: “The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit.” – John 3:8
Just like the Holy Spirit is at work in the unseen spiritual realm, so also demons are at work in the unseen spiritual realm. We can’t see any of it. But we can see the “balloons of life” moving in the unseen “currents.”
The “balloons of life” float this way … just a little movement, a tiny wisp of air current this way. Then a tiny wisp of air current that way.
Sometimes a big gust will catch the “balloon” … something big has just stirred up the unseen spiritual “air currents.”
But silent movement … constant movement … a tiny wisp of current this way. A tiny wisp of current that way.
There is a lot going on in the unseen realm which we cannot see. But that’s no reason for fear. Our God rules over both the seen physical realm as well as the unseen spiritual realm.
God is in total and complete control of whatever “wisps” are creating spiritual “currents” this way or that.
“Jesus answered, ‘I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. … I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Counselor to be with you forever – the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you.’” – John 14:6, 16-17
If we have repented of our sin and given our life to Jesus, Jesus gives us the Holy Spirit to be with us, to live in us, and to direct us throughout life.
Even though we can’t humanly see what is going on in the unseen spiritual realm between the forces of Light and Darkness, the Holy Spirit can! The Holy Spirit is well aware of every unseen “current” occurring in the spiritual realm. And the Holy Spirit guides us, protects us, and directs us!
