Today’s thought to ponder: “Blessed is the person who always fears the LORD.” – Proverbs 28:14

This photo was taken high up on the ridge opposite the Sunrise Visitor Center. You can see the buildings of the Sunrise Visitor Center way out there in the distance.
The Sunrise Visitor Center looks teeny tiny. The cars down there are teeny tiny. And for sure, the people are teeny tiny.
Compared to this vast view stretching out across the Cascades, hubby and I, standing on this hillside, are just teeny tiny specks.
And yet the God who made this vast expanse stretching out before us … this great and powerful and mighty God loves us (as teeny tiny specks as we are).
This great and powerful and mighty God who stretched out this vast expanse … this God wants to have a personal relationship with us (as teeny tiny specks as we are).
This God controls the wind.
This God controls the fire. (yes … the wildfires raging right now)
This God gives us fresh air to breathe.
This God provides food to sustain our lives.
This God knows the pain in our heart.
This God sees the tears we cry.
This God sees every struggle we go through each day.
This God is far above it all … and yet, at the same time … he is in the tiniest details of life.
There is no place for us to be prideful or arrogant. We are just teeny tiny specks, after all.
There is no place for us to be self-absorbed, thinking we are the center of the universe and that life revolves around us. We are just teeny tiny specks, after all.
There is no place for us to think we are somehow in charge of our life … that we are in control! We are just teeny tiny specks.
God is far above everything!
God is in charge.
God is in control.
Not us.
It is good and healthy of us to keep a proper perspective of who God is … and of who we are in comparison.
It is good and healthy for us to have a deep respect and appropriate fear of this great and powerful God who is in charge.
It is good and healthy for us to have a deep respect for the fact that this great and powerful God is in control! Of everything!
God blesses us when we honor him with deep respect.
