A big impact from a hidden place

A big impact from a hidden place

Hubby and I keep our recycle bin out at the end of our long driveway, near the road.   Yesterday I was walking out to the recycle bin with a load of recyclables, when a small spot of white color caught my attention off in the forest off to the side.   What is that??

I dumped the recyclables in the bin, then picked my way through the forest over to the small wildflower which was blooming.

Whoa!   That’s really pretty!   What is it??

I pulled out my Seek nature app and discovered it is a Columbine.   Whoa!   I didn’t know we had white Columbine in our forest!

Here you can see the one little clump of the one little Columbine plant.

One little blooming wildflower caught my attention!

One little blooming wildflower caused me to detour off the path I was on and change course.

One little blooming wildflower influenced me to pick my way through the forest and discover what it was.

One little blooming wildflower made me pause in awe and wonder!

So also, in the same way, if our life is “lit up” with the “light of Jesus Christ” it can catch the attention of someone as they go down their own “pathway” of life.

One life which is “lit up” with the “light of Jesus Christ” can cause someone to detour off the path they are on and change course.

Just this past weekend hubby and I were having a conversation with a family member who has rejected God and given up on faith.   They were sharing with us something very small which they had noticed in our life months ago.   This very small something caused them to detour off the path they were on and change course.   The resulting outcome was radical for them!   They were in awe of the difference this change had made in their life.

You never know who is watching your life.

You never know the impact your life is having on others.

If we are a follower of Jesus Christ, the “light of Jesus” is shining brilliantly through our life, just like the little white Columbine flower blooming in the forest.   The little Columbine flower is just tiny.   What impact can something so small make in the world??

It made a big enough impact to cause me to leave the road and pick my way through the forest to get a closer look.

It made a big enough impact that I’m writing a blog post about it right now.

You never know the impact your life is having on someone else.   You might feel very tiny  …  like the little white Columbine flower.   But your “light” is having a bigger impact than you know!
