I was out in the garden first thing in the morning giving the plants a drink, since we’re having a heat spell. The sunflowers are starting to bloom! And this cheerful little sunflower seemed to be saying: “Good morning sunshine!”
Its enthusiasm was contagious! I couldn’t help but say “Good morning sunshine!” as well.

After all the work of slug-hunting all spring, the sunflowers survived! And they are blooming! All that hard work was worth it! All that effort was worth it!
And now with smoke season arriving, the sunflowers are blooming their hearts out welcoming the day with: “Good morning sunshine … and smoke.” So I likewise respond: “Good morning sunshine … and smoke.”

I won’t let the smoke take my praise. I’m going to praise anyway. Thank you God for this beautiful new day to serve you! Thank you God for this beautiful gift of life to live for you! Thank you God for another day to love people!
Oh look! The pumpkins are saying: “Good morning sunshine” too!

Good morning sunshine … and smoke.
It was likewise a struggle to keep the slugs from eating all my pumpkin sprouts. But the pumpkins survived! The pumpkins are blooming their hearts out and setting on little baby pumpkins.
Regardless of the adversity (slugs or smoke) … we (my pumpkins and I) say: “Good morning sunshine … and smoke! Thank you God for this new day!”
Look! The cucumbers are saying: “Good morning sunshine” too!

These cucumbers were from my Advent Seed Calendar (which was a pre-Christmas gift from my son and daughter-in-law). I have had so much fun with my Advent Seed Calendar!
Not gonna lie … I was really worried about transplanting my little cucumber sprouts out to the garden. I so badly wanted them to succeed … because they were part of my Advent Seed Calendar. And I wasn’t quite sure how they would survive in the garden.
But the cucumber sprouts not only survived … they are thriving! They are loaded with blooms! And they are producing an abundant harvest. They are bringing me so much joy!
Check it out! A cucumber to share as a “first-fruits” love offering with my son and daughter-in-law (since they gave me the gift in the first place). I’m so excited to be able to share the bounties of their gift back with them!

And not only that! … I have a cucumber to share with my daughter too!

And there’s even more for hubby and me to enjoy!
So much joy!
So much to praise God for!
I won’t let the smoke take my praise. I won’t let hardship or adversity steal my joy. Good morning sunshine! … and smoke. Thank you God for this new day! Thank you God for this beautiful gift of life to serve you!
