This little daisy has been blooming cheerfully the past couple of months.

Now mushrooms have moved in and decided it’s time to do some “break down” work in the pot. Mushrooms are nature’s recyclers, as they break down organic matter.
But even with all the “break down” going on, the little daisy is continuing to boom with joy peeking through.

Oftentimes in life we are busy “blooming” where we are planted, just like the cheerful little daisy. Then seasons happen in our life where some “break down” is going on. It’s not fun to be in a “break down” season.
I like the way James 1:2-4 describes this:
“Consider it pure joy whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.” – James 1:2-4
“Break down” seasons in our life are developing perseverance in us.
“Break down” seasons in our life are maturing us.
And through it all we, just like the little daisy, do our best to have joy peeking through.
“Consider it pure joy whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance.” – James 1:2
“You through faith are shielded by God’s power until the coming of the salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time. In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials. These have come so that your faith – of greater worth than gold – may be proved genuine and may result in praise, glory, and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed.” – 1 Peter 1:5-7
