Delighting over new growth!

Delighting over new growth!

I was just outside now checking on my newly planted seeds from my Advent Seed Calendar  …  and the seeds are beginning to come up!   I am beyond excited!

Here you can see my pot of Cress.   I know it doesn’t look like much, but there really truly are little green sprouts all across the dirt.

Just look how adorable the tiny little Cress sprouts are!   I’m so thrilled.   I’ve never grown Cress before.

And  …  I have one Tagetes Red poking through!   Yay!   I’ve never grown Tagetes Red before.   I have no idea what to expect.

And  …  my Livingstone Daisies are sprouting!   It might not look like much  …  but the pot is filled with tiny little green sprouts!   Yay!   I’ve never grown Livingstone Daisies before.   I can’t wait to see what they look like!

And  …  there is one little Zinnia poking through.   WhooHoo for a zinnia sprout!   I’ve never grown zinnias before.   I can’t wait to see how they grow!

I think God himself gets this excited over spiritual growth in each of our lives.

When tiny little “sprouts” of humility start to poke through the “soil” of our life, I think God is every bit as thrilled as I am over the tiny little sprouts of Cress poking through.   Even though our tiny little “sprouts” of humility might not look like much to anybody else, God has been checking each day that particular “soil” in our life looking for humility to “sprout.”   And there it is!

God is so thrilled to see our tiny little “sprouts” of humility!

When a tiny little “sprout” of patience pokes through  …  I think God delights in that little “sprout” of patience every bit as much as I am delighting over my Tagetes Red sprout poking through.    Even though it doesn’t look like much to anyone else, God is so happy!

When tiny little “sprouts” of love start appearing in our life  …  I think God rejoices the same way I am rejoicing over my Livingstone Daisy sprouts appearing!   Those “sprouts” of love are going to bloom into something beautiful!   And God can’t wait to watch it happen!   Just like I can’t wait to watch my Livingstone Daisies bloom!

When one little “sprout” of compassion appears in our life  …  I think God says:  WhooHoo!   And just like I can’t wait to watch my zinnias grow, God can’t wait to watch this compassion develop and grow.

I intentionally chose to share photos which weren’t perfect.   Photos which are hard to even see the sprouts.   Because this is what little “sprouts” of spiritual growth look like in our life.   Our little “sprouts” of spiritual growth are hardly noticeable to anybody else.   Our little “sprouts” of spiritual growth aren’t exactly “photo worthy.”

But God sees!   God is thrilled!    And God is delighting over every new little spiritual “sprout” in our life!
