Mama deer came around with little Jr. deer recently.
She is teaching him the basics of life!
And the lesson for today was: There are tasty apples on these apple trees right here!
Mama nibbled a few tasty bites. But little Jr. deer couldn’t reach any apples. He was clearly bored with the whole thing.
So, mama moseyed on around to the front.
Is she leading little Jr. deer straight through my Bunchberry Dogwoods?! For real?!
We cannot have that!
Mama might be teaching little Jr. deer the basics of life … but one of the basics of life is also this: “Those are not for eating!” (shout-out to Lord of the Rings … Haha!)
You bet I went right out there and let little Jr. deer know he could not eat my Bunchberry Dogwoods! “These are not the tasty treats you are looking for. Move along!” (shout-out to Star Wars … Ha!)
Little Jr. deer paused … he seemed to be asking: “Are you sure??”
Yes! This is one of the basics of life! (Ha!)
